Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk

We joined a march through Bury town centre in support of Public Health, Bury Council and The Big Fandango. Rebecca from The Big Fandango lost her daughter to suicide. Lots of families who have lost someone to suicide attended.

I was honoured to represent FGRS during this walk with my husband, as we lost a very close friend to suicide some years ago. The prevention of this is obviously very important, but its also important to support those left behind. It was an emotional but very powerful day.

The march was a huge success and ended with the unveiling of a remembrance stone based at Castle Leisure Centre. The stone is situated in the garden area to the front of the building and will remain there. It is a safe spot for people to go, take a minute and remember.
